Heavy is the Burden (Print)

from $22.00

We all have some sort of burden that we are purposed to bear - weight that we have to carry makes us stronger. That weight that is purposed, develops our character towards being the best version of ourselves. When people add their own burdens due to ignorance, stupidity or outright neglect and stubbornness. the weight causes stress and unnecessary pain with heartache.

Either way, the burden is still heavy to bear. Working in a capacity where the job requires you to help others to bear their burdens, whether physical, mental and/or spiritual, is indeed heavy, especially when you still have to bear your own weights maturely.

This work was done in pastel chalk on vellum paper of high grit. The colors of the person’s skin are cooled by the blues of the shirt while creating the over-tones of maturity, warmth and open honesty.

This work is a part of a private collection in Pearl, MS.

Prior to being sold, this painting won the Gold medal in its category at the National Veterans Art Competition.
